Dear Members & Friends of St Paul’s:
In the fall of 2011 we will celebrate the centennial (100 years) of St. Paul’s sanctuary, our church home. In June 2009 the Vestry formed the Centennial Celebration Committee, and charged it with making repairs to prepare our sanctuary for the Centennial Celebration and for the next 100 years. We have had several historic restoration experts inspect the sanctuary, and we’ve received quotes for all of the repairs listed below. Due to the major financial cost, we are proceeding with a two phase plan, as described below:
Phase I – Immediate Needs to be Completed ASAP
Water – Route gutters and other water sources away from foundation $2,500
Floor Foundation – 100 years of deterioration and failed repairs have resulted $26,000
in the need for immediate repairs
Bell Tower – Two areas are missing brick and structural support $1,500
Phase I Subtotal: $30,000
Phase II – Other repairs to complete before the Centennial Celebration
Wash exterior, repoint brick, repair entrance arch, and seal masonry $61,400
Repair/Refinish doors $3,500
Replace Stained glass window covers $11,000
HVAC & Electrical Repairs $2,750
Phase II Subtotal: $78,650
Phase I&II Subtotals: $108,650
10% contingency: $10,865
Project Total: $120,000
Please complete and return the enclosed donation card and write “CCP” (Centennial Celebration Project) on the memo line of your check. Thank you for your consideration and help in preserving our sanctuary. Also, please note that this is a one-time capital project and should not impact your every member canvas participation. We have got to support our new rector and the operating expenses of the church.
Sincerely,
Ven Burwell, Sis Dillon, Kyle Dunn, Larry Helms, Gary Noles, and Tommy Steffen
